2 Action Games
FIVE ACTIONS in a ROW Skills Reinforced: Increase
listening skills, memory, and gross motor skills Procedure: 1.
The teacher describes an action like “I can hop on one foot.” 2.
The children perform the action. 3.
Another action is described like “I can march in place.” 4.
The children perform the “march in place” and then “hop on one foot. 5.
The teacher adds a third action and the children perform the actions in
order. 6.
This continues until five actions are performed.

increase the understanding of vowels, counting, listening, and following
directions Procedure: 1.
The children stand in a circle. 2.
The teacher calls out a vowel like an “A”. 3.
All the children with an “A” in their name move into the circle. 4.
The rest of the children on the outside of the circle count the children
with an “A” in their name. 5.
The children return to the circle and another vowel is said like “E. 6.
This game can continue by having just boys go into the circle with an
“A” in their name or the girls with an “O.” 7.
Be creative and think of other ways such as if you have an “A” and “O”
in your name or use both first and last names to see how many “E’s” in the
name.
